From an early age, as a dancer Catherine was introduced to the world of hair and make-up, it was from here that it all began. Catherine is now an internationally travelled professional hair and makeup artist and with her career spanning over more than 10 years, she has worked with some of the top actors, actresses and hair and makeup designers in the film and television industry. Catherine’s vast experience in the media, working alongside some of the industry’s elite, has enabled Catherine to translate these skills into a vast array of bridal styles from modern to vintage inspired. Catherine first realised her love for wedding artistry when she began to provide her skills to friends and family on their wedding days; it was from here that Catherine Elizabeth began, providing brides with her unique skill set and sharing her passion to create hair and makeup that makes them look and feel beautiful from morning until night. When Catherine isn’t creating, she can either be found on an adventure with her beautiful little boy and husband, walking around the countryside with her horse Cassia or having cuddles with her two cheeky little sausage dogs Oscar and Charlotte.

What wedding artistry means to Catherine… “When my brides first come into the studio for their trial, I love the teamwork involved in creating each bride’s unique ‘look’. We team my knowledge with their ideas and hopes, to create something really special. As if that is not wonderful enough, seeing the look we have so carefully put together alongside the brides dress as they beam from ear to ear really epitomises what it means to be a wedding hair and makeup stylist. There really is no other feeling like it… ”

Emma

We all had a designated hair and makeup artist as teenagers, the one who got everyone ready before a ‘big night’, this was Emma, a love of hair and makeup started very early. Emma first trained in London as Fashion Buyer, whilst working for Gok Wan, as part of the stylist team. The love of all things pretty and putting together looks was clearly the right path for Emma, but she couldn’t help the pull from the hair and make-up stations during filming. It was when Emma’s little boy arrived that it gave her the chance and courage to retrain in Hair and Make-up (although the sewing skills and corset tying has become very handy on a wedding morning!). Emma and Catherine first met whilst working on a film set together and with Emma looking to branch out into the wedding industry further and Catherine looking to expand her team; the Catherine Elizabeth Team was born. Outside of the world of Catherine Elizabeth, Emma lives by the seaside with her very cheeky little boy, her husband and their crazy spaniel Mack.

What wedding artistry means to Emma… “A woman’s wedding morning is such a special and unique time, the bride has specially selected her nearest and dearest family and friends to join her in the magic of preparing for her big day…to be a part of this is such a privilege and that moment when everyone is dressed and ready, buzzing with excitement, is truly my favourite part, knowing that I have had a hand in such beauty and happiness.”

Lydia & Stuart… We arrived at Goldsborough Hall one very pretty morning in November, … As always, Goldsborough Hall did not disappoint with it’s breathtaking views and 17th century architecture (not to mention the sunken bath overlooking the grounds-swoon), the hall is... Continue reading »
